Having recently purchased one of our Mason shakers we’re getting a little obsessed with trying new cocktail recipes. Our latest favourite is one from the beautiful blog ‘What Katie Ate.’ Katie has created a wonderful recipe for a Raspberry & Pomegranate Cocktail with fresh lime and vodka, it’s refreshing whilst warming, the perfect drink for Christmas gatherings. You can find the full article here…http://bit.ly/18wLHdv (and the perfect cocktail shaker for them here: http://bit.ly/1kUr5Mw )

We’ve been enjoying your festive photos this week of trees going up, puddings being made and gifts being wrapped. As we’re yet to start our own festivities (these generally start after the last order date) we’re finding everyone else’s very inspiring so we’ve put together a little post on exactly how we would like our Christmas to look when we finally get round to it! Of course this involves some of our R&W favourites and it also heavily features our current favourite shade, Blue! http://bit.ly/19fH0U3

A little while ago we did a post on an emerging metal trend, Brass. Over the last couple of months we’ve enjoyed watching its popularity grow and grow and we’ve enjoyed seeing it being used on some wonderful products. Therefore we thought it was time that we went back to brass to round up some of our new favourites. Perfect on lighting, jewelry or even tiling, brass provides a timeless and understated glamour that you will not tire of in any use. An absolute favourite has to be this beautiful brass bangle from shop-bop, the perfect piece to liven up your little black dress this season.

If you know a little about R&W you will know that we’re rather fond of our feathered friends, you may even know that we are committed to donating a percentage of our monthly profits to the RSPB to help them in all seasons. This is needed even more than usual during the winter months so why not take a look at the RSPB’s guides to help birds stay cosy and fed this winter: http://bit.ly/Ia2t6z - Thank you from us and the Birds x

We have the perfect Christmas gift for those that love nostalgic homewares or better still for those that simply love cocktails. Inspired by the classic storage icon, the Mason jar, the Mason Cocktail Shaker is a unique four-piece cocktail shaker that harkens to eras past. The concept for the Mason Shaker was developed from an obsession with vintage kitchenware and an uncanny ability to fashion impromptu drinking tools at a moment’s notice. Shake up a simple Mojito in minutes to delight your guests, or entertain the children with a non-alcoholic fruity punch: http://bit.ly/15cUygX

This is a wonderful time of year for trying out new seasonal recipes, comforting stews, warming pies and scrummy rissotos. All of which benefit from one delicious ingredient that we’re a little obsessed with, the Mushroom. Not only do these add a wonderful depth of flavour, but the variety available to us nowadays can make the most stunningly visual dishes, with beautiful tones of taupe through to ochre and mustard yellow, we’re spoilt for choice. Here’s one of our favourite Jamie recipes incorporating them: http://bit.ly/Zxc4Hr

Our November wish list has grown and grown over the past few weeks as we begin to hunt for Christmas presents and seasonal self purchases. We’ve put together a little post on some of our favourite things at the moment, just in case any one needs a little help this Christmas (and if they do we especially like the chairs! ;) There are some wonderfully unique products available at the moment, if you’re stuck for inspiration you can of course find plenty of them here: http://bit.ly/jBOf4t

Happy Halloween from Rowen & Wren, we hope you enjoy this one as much as we enjoyed making it. #howmanybats?
We haven’t done one of these in a while, however following a stormy start to the week with lots of us having lost power, we thought this was the ideal product of the week. We love the versatility of our Thora Zinc candle holder, not only will it house your candles in style with its tucked away storage drawer, it will also make a beautiful centerpiece for your dinner table housing miniature plants and bulbs. The rustic zinc finish provides a traditional feel perfect for outdoor and indoor use, alternatively ensure that it is always stocked up with matches and candles and it will make the perfect carry torch for those inevitable winter power cuts! http://bit.ly/1dj5P1y
Gardens can be beautiful all year round and the colours that Autumn introduces to the garden can be particularly stunning. We have a soft spot for more rural gardens that are slightly overgrown and full of wonderful foliage to keep the space looking full and colourful all year round. As we finalise plans for Spring 2014 we’ve been looking at some of our favourite Garden examples, here’s a little collection that has particularly inspired us.

All our social media ports were flooded with Autumnal recipes and baking achievements over the weekend inspiring us to do the same. An absolute favourite for Autumn has to be the good old Apple Crumble, simple ingredients thrown together to make the most homely and comforting of dishes. We’ve found a new favourite by Hemsley & Hemsley which they perfectly team with Ginger creme fraiche, you can find the recipe here: http://bit.ly/YcUupn

Many months ago when we began to plan our Christmas assortment we teamed up with the lovely Karen at Lillapa to design some exclusive stationery for us. They have rapidly become one of our best selling Christmas pieces and you can see why, each beautifully tactile letterpress greeting card and tag has been lovingly handmade. The charming winter berry pattern has been hand-printed for us in two colourways - inky blue and eucalyptus, and finished with a flourish of silver foil. Each card is hand-printed using an antique printing press dating from 1894, aptly named Big Bertha! : http://bit.ly/GSXjet
Just in case you haven’t had a chance to leaf through our beautiful Christmas catalogue yet, why not put the kettle on, put your feet up and enjoy five minutes of festivities, it is Friday after all! : CHRISTMAS CATALOGUE
