Peppermint is one of our favourite flavours, whether it’s in tea, ice cream, or chocolate, or used fresh in recipes and salads. Therefore we’re always looking for new recipes, sweet or savory to incorporate it. if you’re a regular follower of our blog you will have noticed that we have a few favourite chefs that we go back to repeatedly, Jamie Oliver being one of them. Therefore having discovered this recipe of his we simply had to share it. Jamie’s Lemon, Lime & Peppermint sorbet is both refreshing and tasty, serve as a light desert or an in-between course cooler.

As we prepare for the launch of our new Autumn collection, we can’t help but harvest beautiful Autumnal images to help warm us up (or more to the point cool us down) for the coming season. Therefore it’s only right that we warm you up to it too. Although we’re always sad to see the Summer end, we love Autumn and all that it is associated with it. William Cullen summed it up perfectly; “Autumn, the year’s last, loveliest smile.” We look forward to sharing the new collection with you in a matter of weeks…..

Christmas may be the furthest thing from your minds at the beginning of August, but it’s very much at the forefront of ours. We recently had our Christmas photo shoot, so as to share our excitement of the results we thought we’d give you a little behind the scenes snapshot. It was during one of the hottest weeks we’ve had in a while, but armed with a variety of Christmas trees and festive foliage we created the perfect set up for a Christmas shoot. We really look forward to sharing the full collection with you all in October.
There are many drinks that we enjoy in the summer month’s (and plenty in the winter month’s too!). For a lazy summers evening there’s nothing nicer than sharing a chilled bottle of rosé. Not only does it taste great, but it’s one of our all time favourite colours as you will have seen on previous posts. Whether in its palest blush form or deeper coral shades, there’s nothing prettier or more enticing than a rosé filled glass or coupe. Of the above images see if you can spot the Rowen & Wren one, coming very soon to the site!

Another beautiful weekend has passed, perfect for pottering around in the garden. it’s no surprise that our eden mossed pots are proving particularly popular this time of year. They’re perfect pots for relaxed vintage planting, each one has been aged and mossed to provide an authentic weathered finish. Our smallest Eden pots look great with a single bloom or succulent to add a decorative touch to your desk or mantle, or create your very own indoor herb garden on your kitchen surface with our medium sized pot. Alternatively group all three sizes together on our Burley pot stand on your patio for a Mediterranean terracotta display: http://bit.ly/1hO9CmP

We recently stumbled across this lovely quote; “What I like about black and white photographs is that they’re more like reading a book than seeing the movie,” since then we’ve become a little obsessed with all monochrome photography. Its stillness and storytelling ability draws you in as well as being aesthetically very beautiful. Here’s a little collection of some of our recent favourites…..

As they’re a personal favourite, we’re forever looking for new ways to enjoy radishes. Not only are they one of the prettiest root vegetables with their beautiful pink and purple colouring, but we love their fresh peppery taste in salads and also cooked dishes. They’re particularly wonderful when roasted, Martha Stewart does a simple but delicious take on the roasted radish with olive oil, lemon juice and seasoning, found here….. http://martha.ms/1q2azlR

We were lucky enough to get to visit Heston Blumenthal’s most renown restaurant ‘The Fat Duck’ recently. There were a total of 14 courses to be enjoyed, each and every one as beautifully presented as the next and equally as tasty. A firm favourite was the mad hatters tea party and the chocolate playing cards as pictured. We managed to photograph most courses, however the odd one was demolished before thinking of recording it, the service was incredible and refreshingly friendly, a good night was had by all!
This week we finalise our A/W2014 collection with our photo shoot, no sooner is one season put to bed we start looking ahead to the next, S/S2015! As with every season it begins with a lot of research, having begun this it’s inevitable that our ever growing wish list grows further, of which the above are all new additions. Leather continues to be a firm favourite, you’ll spot it being used as clever new storage solutions, holding magazines or recycled jam jars. We’re also still fond of bare bulb lighting, especially when used on beautifully refined pieces as seen on both the clamp table lamp and detailed pendant above.

We recently discovered the wonderful work of Danielle Kroll. Danielle is an artist based in Brooklyn, New York, her style is whimsical and playful and her subject matter aims to “bring smiles to grumpy faces everywhere.” No matter what the project, everything Danielle creates is hand-done and made with love, she is mostly inspired by her childhood, the weird and wacky, and vintage treasures. We particularly love her quirky alphabet interpretations and her colourful fruit and veg as featured above.

A spot of sunshine makes it so much easier to eat a little healthier. This time of year we love using fresh peas and beans in all sorts of recipes to add sweetness and a wonderful splash of green. A firm favourite of ours is Nigel Slater’s Green pea rice, perfect on its own or as we enjoy it served with smoked ham. You can find several of his pea recipes here: http://bit.ly/1ssGAoa
